Flight training
De praktijk opleiding bestaat uit drie of vier modules:
- Module 1: Pre-flight operations and general handling
- Module 2: Departure and arrivals, 3D approaches and 2D approaches
- Module 3: En-route IFR procedures
- Module 4: Flight with one engine inoperative (alleen voor multi-engine vliegtuigen)

Approved Training Organisation
Complete your flight training CO2-neutral
Special Air Academy and GreenCarbon offer the option to offset the CO2 emissions of your training flights (up to 70.525 kg per hour). This is achieved through certified Dutch projects that plant trees to remove CO2. These forests remain for at least 12 years and are clearly visible from the air, making them suitable targets for your navigation flights. The certificates are registered with ONCRA.org to ensure integrity.
Theory Course
De BIR(A) theorie opleiding wordt gegeven door Orbit Groundschool. Alle theorievakken moeten binnen 18 maanden worden gehaald. Nadat het theorie-examen BIR(A) is behaald mag je praktijkexamen doen. Binnen 24 maanden na het theorie-examen moet je het praktijkexamen gehaald hebben.
Admission requirements
Om de Basic Instrument Rating te volgen heb je minimaal een PPL-brevet nodig en minimaal een geldige class 2 medical inclusief audiogram.
